“God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. So she went and filled the skin with water and gave the boy a drink.” — Genesis 21:19 (NIV)

In Genesis chapter 21 verse 19, Hagar and her son Ishmael were in the wilderness, facing extreme thirst, despair, and seemingly impossible circumstances. She must have felt hopeless, seeing no way out. But God intervened and opened her eyes to a well of water that had always been there.

This is a powerful lesson for all of us: when God opens your eyes, you begin to see the opportunities, solutions, and blessings around you instead of focusing on frustration, limitations, or scarcity.

Life can feel overwhelming—your career might be stagnant, your marriage challenging, or your finances tight. Often, the opportunities we need are already present, but our vision is clouded by discouragement or despair.

God’s intervention doesn’t always mean He moves the obstacles immediately. Sometimes, He simply gives you new eyes to see what you’ve been missing—a solution, a door, or a resource that has been there all along.

Consider the widow in Second Kings chapter 4, verses 1 to 7. She was facing debt and the possible loss of her children. In desperation, she sought help from the prophet Elisha. God revealed a solution: fill empty vessels with the little oil she had. When she obeyed, the oil multiplied beyond measure. God opened her eyes to a creative solution that had always been possible, but she couldn’t see it until He intervened.

Just like Hagar and the widow, God wants to open your eyes to new possibilities, helping you transform frustration into breakthrough.

Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, thank You for being the God who opens my eyes to see opportunities even in the midst of challenges. Lord, remove every veil of limitation from my life, career, marriage, and finances. Give me the wisdom and discernment to recognize the blessings and solutions You have placed around me. Let me act with faith and courage as I embrace every opportunity You reveal. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
