Centricity Music recording artist Rachel Purcell has released her latest single, “New Name,” an infectious, up-tempo anthem celebrating the freedom and identity found in Christ. The single is now available on all digital and streaming platforms and will be featured on her upcoming debut EP, Mercy & Me, releasing August 1.

A native of Muscle Shoals, AL, Rachel Purcell brings a blend of soulful vocals, authentic storytelling, and unwavering faith to her music. “New Name” reflects a turning point in her spiritual journey—a musical expression of transformation, hope, and the new identity believers receive through Jesus.

"A couple of years ago, when God started leading me in a new musical direction, ‘New Name’ was one of the first songs that poured out,” shares Rachel. “I wrote it in my kitchen—it felt like water flowing from an open faucet. The words reminded me that I’m no longer a slave to fear or lies. I’ve been given a new name and a new identity in Christ.”

Produced and co-written by Andy Skib (Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, Hunter Hayes), “New Name” pairs catchy melodies with a powerful message, continuing Rachel’s passion for creating music that reflects her most authentic self and deep spiritual roots.

With her debut EP Mercy & Me on the horizon, Rachel Purcell is quickly emerging as a compelling new voice in gospel and contemporary Christian music.

“New Name” is available now on all digital platforms.
