Worship leader, songwriter, and producer John Stratton has released his latest worship anthem, “The Body and the Blood,” a powerful and heartfelt communion song now available on all major digital streaming platforms. Co-written with Josh Miller and Ryan Hall, the single invites listeners into a deeper encounter with the presence of Jesus through the sacred act of communion.

Rooted in personal experience and spiritual reflection, “The Body and the Blood” was inspired by a profound moment at home. John shares that the seed for the song was planted when his young daughter approached him, communion cup in hand, and said:

“Dad, can I have more of the body and the blood of Jesus? We need more of the body and the blood.”

That childlike hunger became a powerful revelation—one that transformed into a prayer, then a melody, and now a worship song that gives language to the deep yearning of the Church for more of Christ.

“I didn’t set out to write a communion song,” says Stratton. “But my daughter’s words wrecked me. Her pure desire reminded me of what we often overlook in our routines: the very real and present Jesus. I pray this song draws people back into that sacred moment of remembering and receiving.”

With Scripture-rich lyrics and a worshipful tone, “The Body and the Blood” is an ideal soundtrack for both personal devotion and church gatherings. It transcends ritual, offering a fresh reminder that communion is a relational, grace-filled moment where healing, transformation, and divine intimacy take place.

This release follows a series of powerful worship songs from John Stratton, known for writing music that cultivates authentic encounters with the Holy Spirit. He is also co-leader of RIVERS, a worship collective he leads alongside his wife, Marina, and has shared the stage with leading voices in worship such as Phil Wickham, Maverick City Music, and Pat Barrett.
