Leeland ft Vanessa Hill - Ark

The genesis of Leeland's new album ‘City of God’ came from their desire to fearlessly explore a pastoral and prophetic voice of worship where songs are sung together and over the people of God.

The album captures the profound power of art to invite people inside a divine world brought alive through music, pushing conversations around artistic pursuit forward within the Church.

“This album started with old testament stories and a piano in my living room,” frontman Leeland Mooring says. “[Through stories], God began to show me, whether it was Moses in Egypt, Noah, and the ark, or Daniel in Babylon, that God always had a redemptive plan in the midst of great darkness.”

Ark is a song from the album featuring Vanessa Hill.

Leeland ft Vanessa Hill - Ark Lyrics

1 Verse:
I keep having the same old dream
That I'm drowning in a sea
Waves are rising all around
Flood as far as I can see

1 Pre Chorus:
And all the sudden
Wrapped up in light
I hear the heavens cry

1 Chorus:
My son build yourself an ark
Let me heal your broken heart
So when the floodwaters rise
And the sun goes dark
You'll be safe in my arms

2 Verse:
Hear them laughing making jokes
While I work on my boat
They say "why you wasting, all this time
There's not a cloud in the sky"

2 Pre Chorus:
Then all the sudden
Through all the noise
I hear a still small voice

2 Chorus:
Saying build yourself an ark
Let me heal your broken heart
So when the floodwaters rise
And the sun goes dark
You'll be safe in my arms
