Phil Thompson penned “Jesus” at his piano simply worshipping after a time of songwriting. As the worship got deeper and tears started to flow, the new single, ‘Jesus,’ was birthed within a span of 15 minutes.
“It felt like a gift had been given to me because it came so effortlessly,” Phil explains.
There is something very solemn and peaceful about this song, a hymn-like feel which led the artist to add a third verse instead of a bridge to it. The message of “Jesus” is too simple to even try to unpack. There is power in the name of Jesus. This name is above every other name. Undefeated and uncontested.
