Nigeria Will Set A New World Record With The Marathon Messiah's Praise 2020

Addressing newsmen at a conference in Lagos on Saturday, February 15, 2020 the National Music Director of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Kunle Ajayi affirmed that the 9th edition of the annual Marathon Praise and Worship programme tagged 78 Hours Marathon Praise and Worship with the theme - Jesus, The Lamb of God is expected to reach over 10 Million participants worldwide with over 30,000 live participants expected to worship for 78 hours non-stop. Setting a new world record, the longest musical event ever.

He said;
"the celebration is not a Redeemed Christian Church of God event but a celebration created to celebrate God through the life of someone who God has indeed blessed.

Since the first event held in 2012, the first four editions were held in Nigeria while the event became a global phenomenon from 2016 when the 74 Hours Marathon Messiah's Praise was held in three countries. From 2016 onward, Marathon Messiah's Praise has been setting new records year after year as more countries are joining us to lift the banner of praise to our God.

As the event has been witnessing astronomical growth over the years, it will also interest you to know that the the Youth Center of Redemption Camp which has been the venue of the 8 previous editions can no longer accommodate the thousands of worshippers that have been attending every year, this necessitated our Father-in-the-Lord, Pastor E.A Adeboye to announce the Prayer Foyer of the 3 by 3KM auditorioum, Redemption Camp as the new venue."

The event which also marks the 78th birthday of Pastor Enoch Adeboye is expected to have over 30,000 live participants with over 10 million viewers expected to watch the event on TV and social media channels around the world.

Countries that will be participating in the praise include Nigeria, United States of America, Canada, England, Australia, Spain, Scotland, United Arab Emirates, Brazil, Israel, New Zealand, and Zambia.

Other countries are Cameroon, Kenya, Netherlands, Sweden, Malaysia, South Africa, Ukraine, Ghana, New Zealand, and Ireland.

There are multiple broadcast streams. One stream will fully cover Nigeria while the other streams will be a mixture of the Nigeria stream and other countries (this is based on the time that the countries are scheduled to minister).

The Nigeria stream can be watched on Dove TV (Channel 349 on DSTV) while the other streams can be watched live on YouTube from the website www.mmpraise.org

The online audience can also follow live on various Social Media Channels including believerscompanion.com

On security and provision of first-class services to those who will attend, Ajayi said; "to ensure a hitch-free programme, over 10,000 people had registered to volunteer in various departments and in other various key sectors of the programme across the participating countries".

Speaking about the new things expected during this Year's celebration, He said "a new department – SOTERIA – which was launched last year for the first time during the 77 Hours Marathon Messiah’s Praise will be available. Soteria is the prayer, evangelism and counseling unit of Marathon Messiah’s Praise where volunteers interested in prayer and evangelism join to share the gospel and pray during the programme."

According to Ajayi, all volunteers will be provided with adequate accommodation (free) and welfare which includes free bus movement within the camp during the event.

The 78 Hours Marathon Messiah's Praise will be held between 9 am GMT +1 Monday, 2nd March and 3 pm GMT +1 Thursday, 5th March, 2020 at the Prayer Foyer of the 3/3 Auditorium, Redemption Camp, Lagos, Nigeria.

Over 210 Worship ministers are expected will be ministring across the 21 countries.
