Consistency, A Powerful Tool For Achieving Success - Adedolapo Jasper Omagbemi

Looking at the youthful world generally especially in this 21st century of improved technology for advanced knowledge, wisdom and understanding, it has been observed that there's a great increase of unproductivity of over average number of the youths in the world generally, this is due to misplaced priorities and unplanned schedules of these youths. We have more smartphones in this generation but unsmart people.

Having studied the challenge of unproductivity, research revealed that lack of consistency and persistence is the reason for the massive failures of people who have the potentials and qualifications, ambitions and dreams to be very successful in life.

Let's examine what Consistency is carefully.

What is Consistency?
Dictionary.com define Consistency as a steadfast adherence to the same principles, course, form, etc.
In my own words, Consistency is the act of doing something repeatedly so as to be accurate in that thing.

With the definition(s) above, you will agree with me that Consistency is a powerful tool for achieving success.

I am sure some people will still want to ask, Why Consistency? Why is it relevant to success achievements...? To those people, I will say, Whether you have committed to eating healthy, to exercising regularly, or to achieve an aggressive sales target, being consistent will play a crucial role in achieving your goals. In fact, it will play the most important part of achieving those targets.

Becoming consistency is not a day job. It's a process, you have to grow in it everyday, every time. Let me share 7 key ways of increasing your consistency.

1. Make a commitment.
After you identify the activities you need to do to accomplish your goals, make a commitment to do them consistently—without an excuse.

2. Set up routines.
Establish a routine to do your daily activities.

3. Take advantage of your peak energy state.
When is your energy level at its highest? Whenever possible, use these times to devote to the activities you need to be consistent about. It’s much easier to do what you know you should do when you have energy than when you are exhausted! Therefore, set your priorities right, endeavour to do the right things at the right time.

4. Do the challenging tasks first.
If the tasks that will drive your results and help you achieve your goal are hard, do them first.

5. Review your goals often.
After writing down your goals, consider writing a commitment letter to remind yourself why your goal is important and to list the reasons you want to achieve it. Review the letter anytime you find yourself procrastinating or rationalizing that something else is more important.

6. Commit to 21 days in a row.
It takes 21 consecutive days to make something a habit. Consistency will be easier once it becomes a habit for you. Will you do what is required of you for 21 straight days? Now this so funny right. It's the truth. Whatever you do more often become a part of you.

“It's not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives. It's what we do consistently.”
